When I Squeeze Her

Of all
The rubber ducks
In the bath of life,
She is the one
Who makes
The right noise.

When I squeeze her.

Smallness

The mouse,
From first light,
To last at night,
Runs
And runs
On that
Wheel.

It could
Be argued,
Convincingly,
That
The mouse
Loves that
Wheel.

Broken Handled

Jam jar
Wine glass,
Bean tin
Ashtray,
Broken
Handled
Tea mug.

Milk crate
Spare chair,
Empty,
Used up,
Broken
Hearted
Me.

4 a.m.

Like an anxious puppy,
4 a.m.
Jumps on my bed,
Nuzzles my face,
Says,
"Love me".

Lonely
4 a.m.
I'll keep you company,
Because
You
Are alone.

Gravy City

It's all beer and skittles,
Bums and titties,
Life is pretty
In Gravy City.

It's wine and roses,
No runny noses,
Life is pretty
In Gravy City.

The moon's full and high,
And so am I,
Life is pretty
In Gravy City.

Girls are good sports,
Their shorts are short,
Life is pretty
In Gravy City.

The sun is shining,
No one whining,
Life is pretty
In Gravy City.

The music's playing,
I'm make haying,
Life is pretty
In Gravy City.

It's all gravy,
It's all gravy,
It's all gravy
Here in Gravy City.

A Shot In The Dark

My thigh rests across both yours,
My lips on your shoulder,
Dark,
You whisper,
Then silence.

A question
I realise,
Half asleep,
I miss it.

"Yes", I guess.
You roll over,
Snuggle your bum,
Against me.
Sling my arm across you,
Like a blanket.

For once, my shot in the dark,
Hits the mark.

Morning Person

Rise
With the dawn,
They say.

Sunrise
Is so
Spiritual.

Healthy,
Wealthy,
Wise.

It's cold.
The sunrise
Is in
My eyes.

I stand
At my window,
Shout at the birds,
"Shut up
Already!",
Realise
I am not
A morning
Person.
